1. Nami Cafe
My personal favourite is their Nami Signature ($8.80). Think thick cuts of salmon sashimi, avocado, cucumber and onsen egg on japanese rice 😋. They also have other rice bowl flavours like Mala Chicken, Mentaiko Salmon and Hakka Tofu.
The cafe itself has nice vibes and is a cosy place to have lunch with friends and colleagues.
It can be little hard to find, it’s near to the NUS Business School, though you would still need to walk around 3-5 minutes to reach the place.
How To Get Here: Take shuttle D1/D2 and alight at NUS Business School Biz 2 building bus-stop. Walk up the road and the Innovation 4.0 building is on your left. If you are driving, you can park at Carpark 11B.
Opening Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:30am – 5pm, closed on weekends and public holidays.
2. Tea Party
Tea Party (Menu) has 5 outlets located in the West and Central parts of Singapore. Their main draw is their pasta dishes which come in many different flavours.
There are classics like Carbonara ($5.30) and Beef Bolognese ($5.80) and interesting flavours like Gojuchang Pasta ($6.60).
What draws me to this pasta is the fact I can get nicely seared beef pieces with mushrooms in aglio olio style all in one plate of goodness 😉.
The University Sports Centre houses an indoor sports halls, 2 Olympic-sized swimming pools and also a bouldering wall. If you are at Tea Party, you can have front view seats if the bouldering wall is in use.

3. Hwang’s Korean Restaurant
Get prepared to queue or make sure you come early for lunch at Hwang’s at University Town. Seats get filled quickly but turnaround and service is fast.
When I visit a Korean eatery I usually try their Kimchi Jigae ($6) to see if the soup is thick and tasty enough. Was happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed.

4. Udon Don Bar
I like to come to Udon Don Bar when I am craving for Japanese curry. Japanese curry beef don ($9) to be exact.
After 6pm, they morph into a bar selling craft beers and light bites.

5. Reedz Cafe
Lastly, I would like to recommend our cosy cafe (menu) located on the 1st floor of the Shaw Foundation Alumni House 😊 (The building next to NUSS).
We serve a wide variety of affordable western food from grills, pastas, quesadillas, sandwiches and light snacks.
We also have 7 yummy sides to choose from (spicy fries, potato salad, onion rings, butter rice, baked potato, fries and aglio olio pasta for an extra $1). They are so good, many of our customers order them on their own as well!
